Katie Pitman

My name is Katie, and I live in Ilminster with my partner and daughter.  My background is in Early Years, and after studying Early Childhood Studies and Psychology at University, I spent about 16 years working in various settings – managing pre-schools, nurseries and out of school provisions.  However, I’ve always had an interest in complementary and holistic therapies, and I knew that if I wasn’t working in early years, I’d be doing something like that instead.

After our daughter was born a few years ago, I decided it was time to make a change and try something new!

I trained at the School of Bodywork in Exeter, and graduated with distinctions in Swedish Massage, Anatomy & Physiology, and Massage Theory in 2019.

Soon after, I completed an additional course in Scar Tissue Release, and I continue to be amazed by how much healing can be achieved with this gentle, non-invasive treatment – both physically and emotionally.  (I’ve had my own caesarean scar treated, and I couldn’t believe the positive difference afterwards.)

I’ve since completed a Hot & Cold Stone Massage course, and continue to seek out ways to build on my skills.

I’m fully insured, and a registered member of the British Complementary Medicine Association.
