Hi there, I’m Sam and I am a BACP registered person-centred Counsellor and qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and I work with adults, children and adolescents. I understand the importance of a safe space to explore and understand feelings, and to consider and become aware of unhelpful patterns of behaviour. Together we can discover how to make positive changes and manage difficult feelings and emotions. I have a number of years’ experience working in a NHS commissioned service around common mental health difficulties. I want to help you reach your goals – we will explore the past and present to help you to heal and thrive.
I offer a safe, therapeutic space and will work at your pace, and to your specific needs, drawing on a variety of modalities. I also have a special interest in life transitions, family and career changes, self esteem and menopause. I aim to work in a collaborative way to overcome difficulties – offering a healing space to work through your problems.
I am a Person-Centred, Integrative counsellor – meaning that I will aim to create a relationship of connection, acceptance and empathy. I believe that you are the expert on how you feel and together we can work to help you discover a way of being that feels right for you, considering strategies to manage difficulties and raise self-awareness. I also offer creative work – so using sand play and art to express feelings and difficulties.
