Holistic Massage

‘Holistic’ derives from the Greek word holos, meaning ‘whole’. The whole person is treated not just the physical body. It is a treatment to relieve the stress of everyday life.

What can the client expect from a Holistic massage treatment

A full consultation will take place prior to any treatment.

What will happen in a session

The treatment takes place on a massage couch and the areas of the body not being worked on are covered with towels. Oil is massaged into the back, shoulders, neck, legs, feet, arms, hands, abdomen, upper chest, face and head using a comfortable pressure for the client.

How many sessions should the client need before they see a result

This very much depends on the individual. Most people feel immediately relaxed and energized but it can take a few days for the energy to rebalance and the receiver can experience the beneficial effects for sometime after the treatment. To keep the body and energy flow in balance the treatment is recommended once a month or as often as needed. If there are conditions that require particular attention then a course of treatments would be recommended.

What can Holistic Massage help

The therapy has been shown to help:

  • ease tension
  • soothe aching muscles
  • improve blood and lymph circulation to clear away waste and toxins

Massage intuitively treats the individual’s body as a whole, releasing blockages and restoring a free flow of energy, supportively assisting the body in its natural tendency towards self -healing. Therefore the therapy can help many physical and stress related problems.
