Microsuction is a clean, simple and safe earwax removal procedure. It can bring immediate relief from symptoms such as hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness and ear pain.
What can the client expect at the appointment:
Firstly, symptoms are discussed and both ears are thoroughly examined. A series of general health questions will be asked before proceeding with treatment. With a binocular microscope and a bright light enabling a clear view of the ear canal, earwax is gently removed using a low pressure suction device.
Typically, microsuction takes 15-30 minutes, depending on one or both ears requiring treatment.
How many sessions will the client need
Most often one session. Occasionally there is a need for a second session if for example the earwax is very dry and hard, meaning further treatment with clinical oil is required over a longer period before we continue.
What can Microsuction help with
Earwax is a natural by-product of our self-cleaning ears. Once the wax traps dust and bacteria it harmlessly passes out of our ear canals in small and unnoticeable amounts. Sometimes wax can build up and cause a blockage within the canal. We may experience frustrating and uncomfortable symptoms such as hearing loss, dizziness, tinnitus and ear pain.
Readily available oils and treatments often aren’t enough to provide a complete solution so it is advisable to seek the help of a suitably qualified professional.

What if no earwax is found?
If no earwax is found, microsuction would be unnecessary.
