Nicole offers psychotherapy with a humanistic and integrative approach, drawing upon a range of therapeutic theories while holding the core belief that each individual is the expert on their own life.
The therapist’s role is to support clients in unravelling their unique experiences, exploring together how these have shaped their sense of self. The work involves creating a space in which relational patterns can be examined, particularly how these patterns influence one’s inner world.
Trained at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC), holding a master’s degree & professional diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, Nicole’s recent research was on exploring how the therapeutic relationship can help heal the fragmentation of the self that often results from disrupted childhood attachment.
Having held her private practice for eight years, working both in person and online, Nicole previously worked as a Bereavement Counsellor for St Margaret’s Hospice in Yeovil.
Her areas of particular interest include the connection between early emotional experience and adult physiological illness, as well as the multiplicity of the self; how individuals adapt for protection and how the pursuit of external safety can sometimes create internal conflict. Nicole is also deeply engaged in the neurological aspects of emotional processing, including the differing experiences of neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals.
Nicole is an Accredited Member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP registration number 2011165747) and adheres to the UKCP Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct.
