Mindful Hypnobirthing workshop

This workshop provides practical hypnobirthing and mindfulness techniques as well as enhanced understanding of the psychology and physiology of birth. It is designed to increase confidence both for mum and birth partner and encourage a positive birth experience.

The workshop runs from 10am-4:00pm. Please bring lunch with you; teas and coffees will be provided.

Classes are run by Cathy, an experienced local antenatal teacher.


Hi, I’m Cathy and I teach Mindful Hypnobirthing classes in Somerset in venues in Glastonbury and Yeovil.

Having taught psychology for many years, I have always been fascinated by the power of the mind, in particular the significance of the mind-body connection. Following the births of my own two children, I recognised the importance of this connection in relation to birth experiences, together with the value of positive, informative and empowering antenatal preparation. I went on to train as an Antenatal practitioner with the NCT and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with many expectant parents over the last six years.

Mindfulness is another significant area of interest of mine, and having completed a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programme (MBSR) I became aware of the many successful applications of mindfulness, including its application to birth and parenting. Together these experiences inspired me to train with Mindful Mamma to bring together elements of psychology, antenatal education, hypnobirthing and mindfulness to enable expectant parents to have a positive birth experience and develop important skills to support them in the transition to parenting.
